PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE FRIENDS

In the last five years, the Friends have donated over £800,000 pounds to improve equipment and facilities at the hospital.

We rely heavily on income from invested legacies which, funds almost half of all projects and equipment

The Charity is entirely run by volunteers.

Urgent Treatment Centre - Lewes Victoria Hospital

The Friends contributed £331,000 towards the cost of developing an Urgent Treatment Centre at Lewes Victoria Hospital, which opened on Wednesday 29th April 2020. The UTC is an upgrade on the much-loved Minor Injuries Unit, and it will provide a very valuable addition to healthcare provision in our community for years to come.

The role of the UTC is to provide assessment and treatment to patients with minor illnesses and injuries that are urgent but not life threatening. It is a walk-in service, but if you contact NHS 111, they will give you an appointment to be seen by either a doctor or an urgent care practitioner.

New Conservatory For The Intermediate Care Unit 2022

Largely funded by the Friends, the new conservatory is providing a welcome quiet place for patients to relax and spend time with family and friends while they recuperate. It also provides staff with a much needed space to hold important multidisciplinary meetings.
