A huge thank you to Lewes Golf Club and retiring captain Nigel Pearson who impressively worked with members of the club to raise £4000 for FOLVH and £4000 for Prostrate Cancer UK during his active captaincy from 2023 - 2024. On Tuesday 2nd April Nigel presented cheques to representatives of the relevant charities on behalf of the club. Lesley Walton (new Chair of FOLVH) and Jane Sallis (fundraiser) both thanked Nigel and explained how important it was for FOLVH to have the support of Lewes Golf Club.
Jane Sallis explained that this years donation would go towards a replacement DEXA scanner for the Radiology Department at Lewes Victoria Hospital. The new scanner will provide service users with high quality diagnostics and digital reporting, enabling earlier treatment for osteoporosis and importantly for men receiving hormonal treatment for Prostrate Cancer as a baseline prior to therapy.
